Wood is one thing, but masonry is quite another when it comes to hanging window boxes. But it’s not that difficult with the correct tools.

Make Your Own Kids Bow and Arrows
My philosophy on teaching handy man skills is simple: Begin with the basics and have fun. While most programs, including the DIY shows, encourage folks to go ahead and rip open that bath or kitchen (bad idea), I'd rather start with small, fun projects that teach fundamental skills and a genuine appreciation for how things are done correctly.
It doesn't make sense to teach someone how to run a pass play before first teaching how to catch the ball. In the same way, it doesn't make sense to teach someone how to use a compound miter saw before showing the basics of a regular hand-saw.
The fact is, most handy-men started as boys in the backyard making bows and arrows! And you should too. I teach Bows, arrows, boxes, fishing poles, and other fun projects BEFORE I teach how to tile, frame, plumb, lay brick, etc. It's much more fun that way, and there is instant gratification.
Let's face it, you won't be able to completely renovate your kitchen by yourself if you're not already incredible talented, but you CAN finish a kid's bow all by yourself. And what a great gift it will make for a kid in your life. There's absolutely nothing that can compare to something made by dad! (no offense ladies, but this is a program dedicated to helping men become handy).
And to do so, we need to begin with the basics.
